On October 13th 2019, YSP Switzerland held a survey for its Peace Project “We Care”.
On the 13th of October 2019, YSP Switzerland held a survey for its Peace Project “We Care”. We interviewed people in Bern with three deep questions. Our goal was to approach people we do not know and ask them deep questions, that would allow each other to think more deeply on the reasons we are on earth, values. As this activity is related to the Peace Project “We care”, the purpose of this survey was also to show strangers that we do care about them and what they think, and that we can have deep discussions and sharing even with people we may not know.
The YSP team for this activity was composed of five motivated young people. We started by separating our team in two, and on this beautiful sunny day, we had the chance to approach many kind people who were very opened to answer our question. As we were stationed in front of the University of Bern, we could meet many young inspired people.
The three deep questions, that we chose out of our list made a few months ago by asking people on social medias and around us what they thought were deep questions, were:
1) What am I proud of and grateful for today?
2) What is a true friend?
3) Are we meant to live in such a chaotic world?
The answer of the questions were different depending on the person, here are a few answers: 1)They were grateful for the opportunities and chance life brings them, and proud of the hard work they went through especially the studies that they are doing or finished; 2) After 20 years, a true friend will stay even if you don’t meet often; 3) Yes we are meant to live in a chaotic world, it is a part of us because we are part of that chaotic nature. But perhaps we can make more order in this world.
And then we ate a picnic together and shared about our experience of the day.
