Some passages read and opinions from the participants are presented here:

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

Revelation 22.13

“Very famous sentence...”

“He is the First and the Last,

the Outward and the Inward;

and He is Knower of all things.”

Qur’an 57.3

“In the Koran the same thing is written as in the Bible; God is eternal, He is everywhere and knows everything. He is as well outside as inside.”

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Hebrews 13.8

“Jesus is considered as the same person as God for Christians. So Jesus is never changing, like God is never changing.”

“Nothing can ever destroy the Buddha Nature.”

Mahaparinirvana Sutra 220 (Buddhism)

“The Buddha nature is God’s nature, so we cannot change or destroy God’s nature.”

“The great, unborn Self is undecaying, immortal, undying, fearless, infinite.”

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.4.25 (Hinduism)

“The same characteristics for God are again mentioned here as well.”

“Moses said to God, “If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ what shall I say to them?” God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.””

Exodus 3.13-14

“God doesn’t have a name, there’s no name that can define God, therefore He says that He is who He is. As soon as we put a name to some being, it limits him/her. We cannot limit God with a name.”

“In Korean, God is called ‘Hananim’ which means ‘The One’. It is simple to call Him like that, He is unique one.”

“How do you talk to God? Some say ‘Heavenly Parent’, others ‘Father’. When we say Parent, it means the parent of humanity, without limitations for humanity.”

“Subhuti, if anyone should say that the Tathagata comes or goes or sits or reclines, he fails to understand my teaching. Why? Because ‘Thus Gone’ (Tathagata) has neither whence nor whither, and therefore he is called ‘Tathagata.’”

Diamond Sutra 29 (Buddhism)

“It is like before, the Alpha and the Omega. In Buddhism we talk about the human nature that became Buddha’s nature.”

“With the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.”

2 Peter 3.8

“God is transcending space and time, He is eternal and unchanging.”

“Who knows the Eternal’s day

and the Eternal’s night,

Each lasting a thousand ages, truly

knows day and night.

At daybreak all things are disclosed;

they arise from the unmanifest.

At dusk they dissolve into

the very same unmanifest.

Again and again, the whole multitude

of creatures is born, and when night falls,

Is dissolved, without their will,

and at daybreak, is born again.

Beyond that unmanifest is

another, everlasting Unmanifest

Which has no end, although

every creature perish.

This is called the Imperishable

Unmanifest and the Highest Goal.

Who reaches it does not return.

It is my supreme abode.”

Bhagavad-Gita 8.17-21 (Hinduism)

“We cannot see God with our eyes, we can only understand Him with our feelings. He is over what can be manifested. He is living in a supreme abode. He is over what is born or dead.”

“It is very nice, very poetical. Probably the text would be even deeper if we could read it in the original text.”

“We can feel the internal nature, even if closed eyes.”

“All that is on the earth will perish:

But will abide forever the face of thy Lord—

full of Majesty, Bounty, and Honor.”

Qur’an 55.26-27

“Also in the Koran, the term Lord is used. Lord is Allah.”

“In primal time, in all time, was the Creator;

Nothing is real but the Eternal.

Nothing shall last but the Eternal.”

Adi Granth, Japuji 1, M.1, p. 1 (Sikhism)

“At the beginning there was the word. It is the same as in the Bible.”

“Panteres, everything changes except for the Eternal. In the contrary, everything in the word is changing, like a river can be different along the flow.”

“God is eternal. He was eternal in the past, He is eternal in the present, and He will be eternal in the future.”

(22:317, May 11, 1969, Sun Myung Moon)

“Again, He is unchanging.”

“Eternity cannot be captured within time, but time exists within eternity.”

(41:285, Sun Myung Moon)

“The time exists in the eternity. When we don’t watch the clock, we don’t have the stress and it can be all right. When we watch the clock and we’re stressed we can miss the train.”

“God’s ideal is eternal. God is the center of absolute and eternal life. Yet the center of that ideal is true love, with “me” as its counterpart.”

(216:115, March 9, 1991, Sun Myung Moon)

“It is the first time that the eternity is connected to true love. The most important is true love. When we say that God is true love, then true love is unchanging, eternal, unconditional. When we love, we can be with God. Love is a very important virtue.”

“Everything that God does is with mercy, is in a good intention. There’s no negativity in God.”

“To love means to take responsibility for eternity. Love is unchanging. If God changed the way people do, how could we ever trust Him? But God is unchanging and eternal. He wants to make a relationship with mankind through true love. Nevertheless, people are constantly changing, day in and day out. How can God trust us?”

(31:210, May 31, 1970, Sun Myung Moon)

“God is absolute and unchanging. If we cannot develop that true unconditional love, we cannot develop our relationship with God. We want to acquire the abilities that God has. If God would change like we do, we probably wouldn’t be able to trust Him. For human beings, if we’ve been acting in a good way a long long way but once we do a little mistake, people can suddenly change themselves and cut the relationship. Human beings have often troubles to pardon.”

“In Hinduism we say ‘the person who suffers is wrong’. So the person who couldn’t pardon is wrong.”

“Eternal life is essentially an attribute of love. Even God, when He created the universe, adhered to the standards of absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience. God lives this way, always desiring to invest more love for the world, even though everything in the world is transient. For this reason, every creature without exception attends Him as the absolute, unique, unchanging and eternal Lord.”

(330:262, August 18, 2000, Sun Myung Moon)

“God is the source of love. A source always continues to give, so God continues to give love and never stops. Like parents who love their children, they will always continue to love them.”

“In Hinduism there is a saying: ‘far from the stars, there are worlds to discover’.”

“God established laws and He stays connected to them. Also God gave the responsibility to the human beings and norms. He doesn’t change them. God keeps absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience.”

“Human beings’ love turns sometimes into jealousy or luxury. But God’s love is unchanging.”

“How old is God? For billions of years He has been growing old, waiting. If God had a beard, I am sure it would have grown all the way down to His feet, and if God grew taller every year, there’s no telling how tall He would have grown. By what power has He been able to endure and wait for so long? It is nothing else but love.”

(111:77, January 25, 1981, Sun Myung Moon)

“God is waiting to have a relationship with His children. He was able to only because He has true love. It is in an ironical way. Human beings have to accomplish something but there not able to yet.”

“True love doesn’t expect anything in return. Some parents think that since they took good care of their children, they are expecting something from them in return when their children get adults. In some poor countries, parents want to have many children because they would like them to help when they get old. But taking care of children should be something without expectations. When there are expectations and they are not fulfilled, there is frustration.”

“Some people go to church because if they don’t they would go to hell or they would be criticized. This is not a good motivation.”
